After weeks and weeks of searching the internet, we took a few weekends to look around at some houses. I kept seeing this one property over and over on the internet. This property had been posted for a few months (which is not common) and the price had been reduced. I noticed that it had an open house and figured that we could easily drive by and just quickly check it out. It looked older and I was just entertaining myself - the house didn't look like my style at all.
When we stopped and walked in - yup - older house...but has been re-modeled! Split level, two fireplaces, newly done kitchen, 5 bedrooms, 3 bathrooms, a nice yard, a finished basement and lots of room. I could live here, I thought.
We went and looked at the house one more time, talked to the landlord and decided we would take it!!! The landlord even bought and installed baby gates for us!! She let us go ahead and move this month for free...for paying February already.........yay!!
It took us a full day of packing and loading all of our accumulated stuff in the tiny apartment into a Uhaul, but we did it and we're home!!
Why are we renting? Why not? We can't sell our home in Augusta, we don't know how long we'll be here and why worry about trying to sell another home in a few years when we decide to move again? We have this humongoid house, no yard work and no worries on maintenance!
So here we are - until we get our house packed up and moved out here. Allie seems to have settled in quite nicely!!
