Today was the first and last (for a long, long while anyway) that Allie had McDonald's. I stopped for a quick bite since I skipped lunch today and got a Happy Meal for myself. I thought, "Hey - I'm pretty selfish if I don't get my own daughter her very own Happy Meal." So I did. We each had our own! :-)
She started off with some fries in the car - since I picked her up a little early today. She gobbled them up pretty quickly and was in such a HAPPY mood from her HAPPY meal!
After watching Super Size Me and then hearing all these random rumors of the food at McDonald's never molding due to all the preservatives - I decided that I would never eat McDonalds again. But...when you're hungry, in a hurry and need something quick...it never fails - it's right there! (And it's SO good.)
Brad and I made an agreement that we would try as hard as possible to shield Allie from McDonald's and the Happy Meal in order to instill healthy eating habits in her. McDonald's will be an "every now and then treat" instead of a common meal. The same with any other fast food kids meal.
So - today's Happy meal will be the first and last for Allie until she is much older!!
With all of the toys we are accumulating for Allie, I had to come up with a make shift toy box for her out of one of the many cardboard boxes we have laying around. When I came home one day last week, I noticed that Brad had "personalized" it! It was really cute...
