Medieval Fair and the Great Salt Lake

I'm not a huge fan of having Allie stray from her routine or schedule, but as she gets older and we spend more time planning things AROUND her rather than with her, I said, screw it...

Today we decided to hit up Salt Lake's Medieval fair. Brad and I became fans of the medieval fairs when we when to King Richard's fair in MA. It was awesome and we we've been spoiled. I can't link to my previous blog because it was on MySpace....wow - that was such a long time ago!!

Anyhow - as we drove up to the fair, Allie fell asleep just in time for "routine" nap!

It was actually one of the prettiest and nicest days we've had in a long time! Warm weather, sun and all! Allie enjoyed the magic show by the gypsies while she sported her "Elton John" sunglasses as a friend called them! They are pretty fabulous, right?!
I hate that I didn't capture this moment better...Brad and Allie were playing together while we waited for the jousting tournament. We didn't quite make it to the actual jousting - people were crowding in on us and Allie was over the sun and heat!

But she does enjoy sitting on her daddy's shoulders!
On the way back, we decided to stop at Antelope Island. Rhonda and I had visited when I first moved here and since we were up north, I thought I would persuade Brad to stop and drive around. We didn't get out until we were leaving and beyond the park's gates since the biting gnats were pretty bad (apparently that's a big problem at Antelope Island) but it was nice to see the Great Salt Lake. We actually did manage to see some buffalo and caught a glimpse of ONE antelope!!

I love this photo of Allie - not quite big enough yet - but that didn't stop her from trying!
And she thought she was something else on this buffalo - which we later read that we shouldn't have touched...

All in all, it was a fun and TIRING day!!
