We MADE it....but our luggage didn't...

I didn't take that many photos today because, well frankly, I'm tired! Our flight left Salt Lake this morning at 11:30. It was nice because we had no luggage to carry in, check and we didn't even need a boarding ticket - we just went through the short family line through security and off to our gate!

Our flight arrived into Atlanta around 4:30 EST and since our connection to Knoxville didn't LEAVE ATL until 9:00ish, we opted to just end in Atlanta and have my mom come pick us up. It's only a 2 hour drive for her. Luckily, we made this decision yesterday when we checked our luggage in and the ticketing agent marked our luggage as Atlanta for a final destination. With over $5000 of camera gear in my luggage, I was anxious about getting my hands on the luggage.

Funny enough...our luggage had gone on to Knoxville the day before. Great...

When we did finally arrive in Atlanta, my mom was running behind, so we were looking at an hour wait at the airport. We watched a little Yo Gabba Gabba...

...but then quickly bored of that and needed a change. A live jazz band was playing in the airport and Allie had a blast watching them play! She really got in to watching the drummer, sax player, guitar and all of them! She would clap enthusiastically when they finished a song and dance during the song. She was quite the cutie!!

So finally, my mom called and said they were there - we went outside to wait and and Brad walked down the sidewalk to meet them in their car. Next thing i knew, I saw my mom walking up the sidewalk with Brad. I pointed to my mom and told Allie, "Look! There's Mammaw!" and she immediately jumped off the bench and ran straight into my mom's arms! None of us were expecting that welcome!

We're finally here and have a busy weekend ahead of us. Luckily after hours of waiting and calling - Brad was able to locate our bags in Knoxville and his dad was able to break away from the wedding madness and pick them up for us.

It took us two days, but we made it back home!
