Day 261 - A valuable lesson

A few weeks ago, we made the mistake of keeping Allie up one night until about 11:00 pm as we were visiting with some friends. We thought - eh, she'll go down pretty easily! WRONG!

I don't know what it is about babies...or at least MY baby, but the logic that they are really tired and will go to sleep...and STAY asleep doesn't work.

We vowed that we wouldn't deviate from her schedule again.

Tonight, we broke our vow and learned a valuable lesson: Tired babies don't work like tired grown ups!

My mom is moving back to Tennessee tomorrow and my brother is in town to haul all of her stuff back. We stayed up visiting a bit and kept Allie up well past her bedtime. She went down crying, but finally went down...ONLY to get right back up an hour later. It's funny to watch how restless she is by rolling around, almost falling asleep and then popping back up just keep rolling around more! Luckily, since it's my mom's last night here in SC - she is taking Allie and all her restlessness to sleep with her. Although we're not big advocates for having Allie sleep anywhere else except her crib....(I will secretly sneak her in bed with me every now and again because I LOVE snuggling with her) tonight was an exception because Mammaw is just not going to see Allie as nearly as much.

We went over to a friend's house earlier this evening and Allie fell asleep on the ride back. She's just like her mamma.....she konks out in the car too easily!
