Day 372 - Missing baby, but Standing tall

Okay - here we go again. More of my belly aching for being away!

Look at how big she is though - she is changing EVERY DAY because when I left this past Wednesday, she didn't look this grown up!!

Apparently Brad, my mom and Allie spent the day shopping. Mom is insistent on buying Allie some shoes for the cold weather here....and it looks like they scored some boots in the photo above. My mom tried to explain to me that there were "feathers" at the top of the shoes, but Brad clarified with "fleece lining."

Brad and my mom both reported today that Allie is standing more and more on her own. Which means that before long, she'll be taking her first steps by herself. I am not rushing the walking for two reasons: 1)I'm not there yet and 2)she'll get to it in her own time.

I was looking back on previous posts last night in my "Missing Allie" moments as I have dubbed them - and I watched videos and read blogs that I was really rushing Allie to crawl. She got there - eventually - on her own terms, regardless of how much I pushed her to get it done!! So, I'm letting the walking thing just...be. I just want to BE there!!

My flight home is scheduled in a week and half at which point I will be flying back to Salt Lake with Allie - by myself! That will be a whole 'nuther adventure!!

I get such a kick out of these expressions on Allie's face. She totally gets that from me and if she's not careful, they'll get her in trouble down the road!
