Day 232 - More backyard fun

Since Allie enjoyed herself so much last night on the deck, we decided to have dinner outside. As Brad was grilling up some food for us - we let Allie play outside.

Allie is doing a great job standing up with support, although she's still not showing any interest in crawling. We're continuing to give her plenty of tummy time in hopes that she'll try something! She can move from a sitting position on to her tummy, but then she realizes that she has to move somehow. Rather than crawling, she rolls....go figure!! She's made a few attempts at trying to crawl - sometimes even pushing herself backwards, but quickly thereafter gives up and just grunts!!

Once dinner was cooked, we brought her highchair outside - since we hardly ever use it inside - and enjoyed a nice family evening outside. Tonight was one of my favorite nights ever!!!

Once we got finished eating, we headed in for a quick bath - Allie loves her bath time with her daddy and is obsessed with playing with cups in the bathtub!

I got to rock her to sleep - since I'm no longer nursing - it's the only thing I have left to do. And although we tried so hard in the beginning to let her go down on her own and self soothe herself to sleep - I cannot just put her down at night. The nursing at night time was our thing..and since it is gone - I'm going to rock her to sleep. She goes down fine on her own during nap time...so I may be shooting myself in the foot and setting myself up for future aggravation, but I now realize that she's growing up fast and these cuddly moments aren't going to last forever!

  1. I have rocked Shay and Emory both to sleep since they were born and I would not trade it for anything in the world! That was always my time! Now when Shay goes to bed I lay down with her she says that she is my cuddle bunny. One of these days they will not want me to so i hold on to it now.
