Sometimes I catch a glimpse of Allie and I think to myself....you're growing way too fast. I remember when she was just a teeny tiny chubby bunny and now she's opinionated, can ask for stuff, can tell you what she likes and doesn't like....
Don't get me wrong - I so look forward to her growing up and into a little lady...but part of me just can't quite let the sadness of her not being a baby go!
This weekend, I'm going to get my hair cut and have tentatively scheduled Allie for her first haircut. I keep going back and forth on whether I want to get her hair trimmed because that is HER BABY HAIR...the hair she's had since she was born. It makes me sad.
I know - I am happy that she is a thriving, smart and beautiful toddler...but there are some things that are harder to let go than others. Brad's response to my issues, "Good thing we're having another one." Thanks...
So here are a few photos from today that made me realize that she is growing up...a little too fast for my liking...
I've been experimenting with her hair lately - the full pigtails were getting a bit old for me...these half piggies make her look older to me...not sure why.
This is on our way home from daycare...where I have to have an apple juice box and a crunchy cracker (an organic baby mum mum that she LOVES!) If I don't have one...I hear about it ALL the way home...."Apple juice, apple juice, apple juice...."
This past weekend, we headed to IKEA. We are going to transition Allie to a big girl bed in the next few months and just hand her nursery furniture over to the new baby. We found a fantastic set of bedroom furniture (4 pieces!) for cheaper than I can purchase a new crib at Babies R Us!! As we were scoping out furniture, we went over to the toy area and we couldn't resist all the toys! We didn't leave with any furniture this weekend, but we did leave with $70 worth of cool IKEA toys!! Brad bought her a wooden train set that she adores - she loves going to Barnes and Noble just to play with them...
But as we were leaving, I found the CUTEST stainless steel pots and pan set! With Velcro food no less!! She really enjoys cooking the velcro food for me and Daddy!!
