Good visit and a good flight home...for once!

Our flights home today were pretty uneventful...although we thought we were in for another surprise when we boarded our last flight from Atlanta and as we were sitting on the plane, the pilot came on the PA and announced that the co-pilot got sick and had to leave, so we had to wait for another co-pilot! We only ended up sitting at the gate in the plane for an extra 20 minutes or so, but we managed.

Allie slept most of the flight and I must say - what a big difference a few months (and possibly tubes) make! She was no longer a squiggly kid that needed to be moving around all the time. She was content sitting and listening / watching her DVD's and then quietly decided to sleep!!

I will say that we did have a few minor incidents on the flight! Allie was sprawled across our legs asleep and the lady sitting to the right of me by the window had her tray table down. She had her drink and my drink on her table and as we were chatting...Allie kicked her legs up and our drinks went flying all over the lady! I felt so bad - but luckily she was understanding and we managed to get a lot of towels to clean it up!

Toward the end of the flight after Allie had woken up - her diaper was FULL! We thought we would try to hold off until we landed, until Brad moved Allie from his lap and saw a huge wet spot!! Oops! So I quickly changed her diaper and clothes! Once we landed and were ready to board the bus back to the parking lot - Allie's pants were wet again in the back....ugh - full fledged diarrhea! I guess fast food eating caught up with her...and we had no other clothes left to change her in to. We managed to get her diaper changed, get back to the car and finally to the house!

After reflecting back on our visit home - I am so homesick and want nothing more than to move back to Tennessee to be closer to our family. I knew what I was in for moving out west, but didn't realize it would hit me so soon! Our plans are to hang out west for at least a few more years, but be moved back in Tennessee at least by the time Allie starts school. I didn't grow up with a lot of family around me and I don't want to deny that to Allie. She has two cousins that are relatively the same age as her and I would love nothing more than to her to grow up close to her cousins. And I truly enjoy seeing how happy she makes the grandparents...

We're going to keep praying!
