Twinkle...

Today was another traumatizing day for me...for a much different reason than yesterday.

Several weeks ago, I watch a report on the Today show about the number of children that get hurt in bouncy houses. They even showed a video clip of a bouncy house being blown around a yard - WITH KIDS IN IT! I had told myself then that I would never let Allie in one.

Then we went to Park City's market today and at the market, they had two bouncy houses that Allie was immediately drawn to. The smaller bouncy house contained the smaller children. There was a small tunnel that led into the bouncy house. Allie was zoned in and wouldn't leave until we let her bounce. The kids in there made me nervous. Although maybe only a few years older, they were much...bouncier...and the fact that the small tunnel didn't allow me direct access to her, made me MORE nervous. Brad protested and said it wasn't a good idea and I agreed...although watching Allie gaze longingly at the other kids having fun, made me change my mind. I figured - let's see if she'll even go IN...

She did go in. Slowly. Reluctantly, but eventually made it in. She parked herself in the front right corner with Brad standing right outside talking to her through the net. She was bouncing on her bottom with the force of the other children tossing her up and down. "See" I told myself - "She's alright." All the sudden, I saw the house start to deflate, crumple and someone yell - "Everyone OUT!" Before I knew it - the house had completely deflated and collapsed and children were clamoring to get out. I couldn't see Allie, I didn't know if kids were trampling her to get out - I didn't know if she could even breathe! I stretched my way in that tiny tunnel - yanked kids out of my way - grabbed her leg and pulled her to safety. I think she was actually cool with the events that occurred up until that point. I think I freaked her out more than the deflating of the bouncy house did. And I trembled for the next half an hour. I still have nightmares about that and what could have happened.

Blah...

But ANYWAY!

Allie has turned in to quite the singer. And I can't seem to catch it on video which really irritates me!! She can sing her entire ABC's by herself, Twinkle Twinkle, London Bridge, Ring around the Rosies, The Wheels on the Bus, If you're Happy and you Know it and a few Wiggles songs. I had Brad buy a CD for her so we could sing together. We were doing so good...until I pulled out the camera. It's not much...but it's still cute! She was making me laugh because she would say, "Sit down here, Mommy" or "Stand up, Mommy." She's such a little jabberbox lately!!

I also managed to get a picture of her and her new Best Friend, Foofa from Yo Gabba Gabba.

Friday, I went over to West Jordan for my frozen meal swap, so Brad and Allie took off to Toys R Us. When I got home, there was a new Thomas the Train pop up playhouse and a large Foofa! Brad told me that she had Foofa, Groby and Muno in her arms (all the same size) in addition to the Thomas the Train playhouse. I wish I could have seen it!! But she finally chose Foofa and she LOVES her. She does everything with her - brush her hair, feed her, share her juice with her, read to her...it's quite cute!!
