Day 84 - Happy New Year's Allie

As I suspected last night...I didn't quite make it to the countdown. I was so exhausted that I fell asleep at around...oh....8:30 on the couch! Geez Louise! Yup - Brad woke me up just in time to count down the final few seconds. I gave him a New Year's kiss and went to sleep in my bed!! Welcome to Motherhood, the New Year said!

Nana and Pappaw bought a cute Harley Davidson outfit for Allie when she was born and brought it to the hospital. She wore it once when she was a few weeks old (my mom put it on her) and it was way too big. I put it into the 3-6 month drawer and finally pulled it out today when I was putting all of Allies 0-3 month clothes away...yup - they're too small for her. When I saw this outfit, I was really excited to put it on her. It fit until I put the pants on her...it was a bit snug around the waist if you know what I mean! So I decided to take a few pictures of her and the outfit before I took it off and packed it up with the rest of the outfits she has outgrown.

I had to clean out Allie's clothes drawers again...we broke out the 3 month outfits and there were too many to fit into the drawers with the 0-3 month clothes. And she has outgrown most of her 0-3 month outfits. It super hard to pick up those newborn outfits and the 0-3 month outfits and see how tiny they are and know that your little one will never fit into them again. They really do grow up so fast and it is heartbreaking!

On the other hand, it is so much fun watching her grow and learn new things! She has been talking (cooing), reaching for things, holding onto things and even putting them in her mouth. We still can't seem to get her to pick up that heavy noggin yet. She does move her head from side to side when you put her on her tummy, but then she gives you this look out of the corner of her eye, as if to say, "Alright dummies...you know it's too heavy for me to pick up...turn me over!" I know, one day soon, I'll be crying, "she was a baby once...and couldn't hold her head up...now she's going to college..."
