Day 85 - A lot of things going on...

I realized now that both of my New Year's Resolutions: 1) Make pumping my priority at work and 2) Be better at taking daily pics and writing / posting the daily blog - are both about Allie. Now that I'm a mom, certain things become menial. The focus on the "lose weight" resolutions are still there, just not as much. Of course - as I called it in a previous blog...the last 10 lbs to lose were going to be a b*tch...they absolutely have been! I think I actually picked up a few since that blog! But, of course, I will try to lose those last few lbs this year, but my main focus will be on Allie.

As silly as it may seem now - I know I will be so happy that I kept this daily blog on Allie. I already find myself going back to some of the older posts and reminiscing back when she was so tiny...and I know I'll do the same when she's walking and talking. I love that kid...how many times do I need to repeat it? I don't know...I'll let you know when I'm tired of saying it!

Today, we tore away from the baby and headed to Columbia. Brad has had his eye on an electric guitar and he wanted to buy it! We left Allie with my mom and headed out. Brad had a sore throat, headache, congested nose and a nasty cough, so we came right back home when we got the guitar. We then realized after we got home, that Allie also had this nasty cough...and a congested nose. Ah man, Allie's first cold...I was hoping to delay this first until she was at least...5 or something! HAHA...yeah, I knew it would last that long, but I wasn't expecting it this soon. We gave her a small amount of baby Tylenol and she went straight to sleep.

The past few nights have been awesome in terms of Allie sleeping through the night. She has been sleeping 6-7 hours a night for quite some time now, but the past few nights, she has been sleeping 9-10 hours. I don't know if it's because she's sick or if she's really going to be sleeping like that from now on...but I am so proud of her. Her schedule is sticking, she is starting to nap in her crib longer and longer and now the sleeping through the night?! Wonderful!

Here's a few baby poses that Allie gave us today...this must be a popular dress because she has gotten about 4 or 5 of them as gifts. She has two in a 3 month size and a few more in bigger sizes...Mammaw had to put those ridiculous "Forest Gump" shoes on her (I call them that) and she looks a little....special....but cute nonetheless. We're actually preparing her for the baby model occupation we hope she has in the near future...camera in her face all the time....she'll be a shoe in....a Forest Gump shoe in....HAHAHA...I KILL ME!!! (that was an ALF reference in case you didn't catch that!)

And just because I don't have ANY photos of Allie and me...I thought I would indulge myself!!!

  1. Wow, Allie looks so big in these pics. She's growing so fast! I can hardly wait for our next visit!
