HAPPY 13TH WEEK BIRTHDAY, ALLIE!!!
Wow - how long has it been since I told Allie her weekly Happy Birthday greeting? Quite a while, so I think I've done pretty good by weaning myself off the crazy obsessed mother thing, right?! Honestly, since Allie hit 12 weeks, I officially started referring to as 3 months old...instead of by her week age. She's getting big and the time is flying by.
Work is continuing to interfere with my New Year's Resolution of ensuring I make pumping my first priority. I will continue to try, but I have no choice but to go with the flow...hehe...get it? I'm pathetic, I know!
Since my mom hasn't been out of the house in a few weeks, I decided to take her out to dinner tonight for a little mother / daughter bonding and leave Brad with Allie for a little father / daughter bonding. This is what Allie and Brad were doing before we left...

I just simply cannot get enough of this kid! She is getting better from her cold as the snot has slowly but surely dried up. The cough is still there and I can start to hear it in her chest. I am going to give it a few more days as it does seem to be getting better.
Gosh I cannot get enough of this kid....can I just glue her to my side so that I can take her with me wherever I go?

Allie slept the entire time my mom and I were gone, so they didn't really have that much daddy / daughter time, but my mom and I tried a new Korean restaurant out and we enjoyed it thoroughly.
Getting to the nipple part of the title...Allie finally starting taking a bottle consistently this week! My mom claimed that Allie would have learned something new with the onset of this cold. Yeah - it doesn't make a lick of sense and I just nodded my head this week to agree in silence, but sure enough....Allie has learned how to take a bottle. She seems to prefer the NUK nipples, so my mom and I headed to Buy Buy Baby to grab more bottles / nipples. While we were there....we couldn't help but buy a few more toys for her - little toys - some rattles, some teething toys...then I saw more of the Rock a Bye CD's. I picked up the second volume of the Beatles, the Bob Marley disc and then at the check out...the Led Zeppelin disc. There are a few more I want to get...more so for Brad - the Tool disc and the Queens of the Stone age disc will be the next CD purchase. I really like this series of lullabies...they are awesome! We bought a hat and a few other things....$100 later...we were headed home.
And now...I'm going to pass out on the couch.
I have to laugh... I stopped at 12 weeks too. I mean, how do these people keep up with the weeks?? I have a friend who is the mother of a 46 week old -- no kidding. 46 weeks? WTH is that? Yeah, Sophia will be 5 months on Monday (the 11th). I have no clue how many weeks that is. Do I deserve a MOTY? I don't think so.
ReplyDeleteOh, and Sophia prefers the NUK Newborn nipples. She technically should get the next size soon, but she loves the newborn ones, so why try something else?
So you got the Bob Marley Rock-a-Bye. What do you think? We have the Tool one too. It's wonderful. I honestly haven't bought one of the set that I don't like.
So are y'all coming back to Columbia any time soon? I'd love to catch up with ya. Do y'all make it back to Greenville at all?
Loving the Bob Marley CD as well as the Led Zeppelin one - I think I like the LZ one the best - it's my favorite so far.
ReplyDeleteI don't know when the next time I'll be in Columbia or Greenville yet - I have a bridal show coming up soon that I have to start prepping for. My first bridal show and my first booth - and I'm photographing the event, so it's been crazy...i'll let you know next time we're in Columbia though.
