Yeah - you get the point...eventually, the weekly happy birthdays will wear off...Allie is already bored with the weekly Happy Birthdays!!
To celebrate again, I went out to have a mani / pedi...selfish again...oh well!
Last night - Allie did so well through the night!! I put her down about 9:30 and went to sleep myself. She woke up at 12:00 (like clockwork) and went right back down...and then I had to wake HER up for her 3:00 am feeding!!! I guess she did go through a growth spurt (Wow - am I still trying to convince myself that it was a growth spurt?!)
However, she was pretty restless today - but I would so much rather her be restless during the day than at night! She gets fussy and starts to root around like she's hungry when she's super tired and can't seem to let herself fall asleep. You have to hold her a certain way and she'll give in...this is probably the first time I've actually felt like a mother...like her mother. I can see when she's tired...and know what to do...although we will have to break her of this! She will soon be figuring out her own methods of falling asleep! Once we master having her stay awake during her feedings...she will learn to fall asleep on her own! In the mean time...baby steps!
My mom is leaving in a few weeks to go to San Diego for a month, leaving Brad and me with Allie. I plan on implementing all the Babywise suggestions during this time so she doesn't influence (or slow down) the schedule. I've been having a hard time getting her to understand Allie needs to wake after she eats! Mom just wants to cuddle with Allie once she dozes off! I can understand, though - who doesn't!!
So with her 3 week birthday - here are some pics!!
I couldn't resist the first one...this is the library (or at least the beginning of a library) for every new mother!!! A little light reading in the nursery for when I'm pumping or nursing!! These are great reference books!!
The last two pics were really to showcase her cheeks off...when I look at her - ALL I SEE ARE CHEEKS!!!
