Patiently waiting

I may be biting off more that I can chew, but as an aspiring photographer, I want to be able to document the first year of our daughter, Allorah Li Gideon. Every day of the first year...even if it is a quick one liner post, or a post with one picture. Everyone keeps telling me that they grow so fast, so I want to be sure that I document and cherish every moment as they arrive.

With that being said...

Tomorrow, I will be 39 weeks along with this pregnancy. Whew... Last week at 38 weeks, I was 50% effaced and 3 cm dilated. She is estimated between 8 and 8-1/2 lbs. We thought that I would have gone into labor by now, but here I sit, with a basketball in my belly...a squirming basketball! We decided to be induced this week, however, the hospital was overbooked for inductions and my doctor is out of town next week. Allie's official due date is October 15th and I'm beginning to think that she will never get here, but I'm sure most 39 weekers feel the same way.

My mother decided to move in with us for the first year so that we would not have to take her to daycare. She has been with us now a little over a month and it has been great. She has taken such great care of not only Brad and me, but also Lando and Kitty. We've been walking quite a bit trying to coax Allie into coming out, but she's going to be a stubborn little girl...just like her mom.

So, we'll continue to wait patiently for her arrival and I will commit to posting an entry a day once she arrives...for now at least. I'm sure that will change and I will be playing catch up once she's here and all the craziness breaks loose!!
