I didn't sit in the back with Allie, for whatever reason, so I couldn't help but laugh my head off when we got out of the car and her hat had covered her entire face except her mouth...it was funny - guess you had to be there!
Allie had only pooped once since we've been home and she's had tons of gas gurgling in her belly and causing her to be fussy. I was worried that she hadn't had more poopy diapers since I had been breastfeeding. As we were expressing our concerns to the nurse, Allie let out the loudest most obnoxious fart ever, followed by an obscene smell of poop. "Well, nevermind," I said to the nurse. We were originally not planning on taking a diaper bag because the pediatrcian office was just down the road from our house, but my mom insisted and packed it up for us. She also included a bottle of breastmilk that I had pumped the night before...just in case. Thank God for moms because we needed the diaper bag AND the breastmilk!
She weighed 8 lb, 1 oz still (the weight she left the hospital at), so I was pretty happy. Allie screamed her head off the entire visit, but I was pleasantly suprised with the pediatrician. He's awesome and I highly recommend him to anyone in the Augusta / North Augusta Area. His name is John David Allen and he is the shit!!
After we got Allie bundled back up and in the car...she pooped again. I guess all she needed was a little fresh air and sunlight to get her plumbing to work right again. All the crying and pooping must have taken its toll out on her, because she slept like a log the duration of the day and into the night.
She really is a good baby...although I may be a little bias!!
