Day 275 - Random somethings

I love, love, love the fact that I can end the work day (the rough, rough, rough work day) and see my Allie girl for 1 second and completely forget everything that happened up until that moment. I went to pick Allie up today a bit early and she had just gone down for a nap. I scooped her up, brought her home and put her to sleep in her own bed. She slept so hard during her nap at home that when I woke her up, she not only had her fingers imprinted into the side of her face (as she slept face down on her hand), but she also had her fingernails imprints in that chubby cheek of hers!

Yesterday, I decided to have another go at trying Allie on some finger foods. I've mentioned the Baby MUM MUM organic teething rusks...these used to take Allie quite a while to go through - now she goes through them in no time! And she LOVES them as you can see below!

I wanted to try some different textures - she had her go at some veggies, so the other day I tried a fresh mango. I gave her a tiny bite and she went crazy for it. I cut up more pieces for her and she tried for a few minutes to carefully pick up each piece, but then as soon as she gave it a bit o of a squeeze to pick it up - it would slide right out of her fingers! I looked up and she had her hands in a tight fists, shaking and growling - this is what she does when she gets frustrated! I'm going to have to watch that - she definitely has my temperament! So - I crushed up some crackers and coated the mangoes in them and voila - all was well in the world again! It was a bit messy, but I had a much less frustrated baby!

She absolutely loves eating solids - obviously the baby food that I make, but she loves chewing (or gumming) her foods and when we eat our big people food - she stares at us longingly and if you don't acknowledge her - she pats you on the arm - like, "Hey - whatcha eatin'!"

Here's a picture from her bath time...she finally has enough hair, we can give her a baby bath faux hawk! AND SHE LOVES IT!
