Day 283 - Life's a Beach!

I realize now after packing for an extended time away from home that having a baby DOES change everything! We spent most of the night last night prepping to get ready (making food, washing clothes, etc) and the first half of the day we spent packing, organizing and double checking...

Whew!

By 11:30 this afternoon, we were on the road and headed on our initial 3 hour trip. Turns out - today is the day that EVERYONE else was also headed to the beach! Our 3 hour trip turned into a 5 hour trip....boo....and Allie wasn't thrilled about being in the car either. About an hour or so into the trip - she blew the diaper out...and then about 2 hours into the trip, she blew another one out! FINALLY , she fell asleep and we had a peaceful last hour!

When we arrived to the beach - we visited a bit with Brad's family and then hit the beach!

Allie seemed to enjoy her first time at the beach!

Allie got hit in the "grill" as Brad says by a wave...and was on the verge of freakin' out, but Daddy did a great job of turning potential tears into laughs!

She seriously enjoyed playing in the sand....not sure how Allie turned in to a little Joe Dirt while Jules stayed sand free!

We even gave her a little dip in the pool on our way back in from the beach...it was our attempt to de-sand a bit before we went back to the room...it didn't work that well!
