Day 282 - What a week!!

I think it's about time for a vacation! That's exactly what time it is! Tomorrow, the three of us will head out to Myrtle Beach with 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 other adults and 1, 2, 3, 4, 5, 6 kids....that makes 8 adults and 6 kids for a grand total of 14 people for 7 days!

That's nothing compared to the week I've had! Travel on Sunday, Monday, huge tragedy at work on Tuesday - attempted murder / suicide in our parking lot with one of my direct reports, travel on Wednesday, Thursday and return on Friday just in time to run out and get a few things for the trip, come home and pack and cook a bunch of baby food for Allie (we are running dangerously low!) I went to bed at 11:30 last night, woke up at 3:00 am to catch my flight back to Augusta from Boston and haven't stopped since...so I'm running on fumes at this point!

I managed to whip up some broccoli / sweet potatoes, butternut squash, pear / nectarine mix and Allie's first stab at beef - beef and carrots!

During my trip this week, I finished up Allie's SECOND pair of socks....yes - second pair! I had to rush home and try them on her....the ends haven't been weaved in and I haven't washed them, so pardon the wonky shape on her feet!

This is one of my favorite sock patterns - I tried knitting this pattern for me, but didn't have quite enough patience to make a second one in an adult size!! That is one thing I love about knitting Allie socks - they knit up quite fast!

Since Allie is mobile and Lando was already at the kennel today, I vacuumed and swept and we let Allie have the run of the living room. With all her toys and all the space, she decided that she was only interested in our magazine basket!

She settled on Martha Stewart's Living...
It has been one crazy, insane week and I'm so glad to be home with my little booger! I like calling her random names that just roll off of my tongue...like chicken nugget or my little cookie monster or my little lazy daisy...I don't know why I picked up this habit, but it's fun...I like to see how many random things I can call her in a day!

The BEST part of the day was picking her up from daycare early especially after not seeing me for a few days. I didn't capture the huge smile on her face when I first got there, but I was happy to see my little boogie woogie!

The posts of the next seven days should be fun! Allie's first time at the beach, her first vacation, her first time spending extended time with her cousins....I can't wait!
