Who knew that becoming a walking, talking meal truck would be so difficult! I had to run several errands today and rather than doing them all in one big trip, I had to break then down into several.
We were in desperate need of going to the grocery store, so my mom and I headed out and left Brad home with Allie. We had to come right back so that I could feed Allie. She is not good at taking a bottle anymore - for whatever reason, she doesn't eat well from the bottle. She won't really take a pacifier either. What is really funny is to watch her resist the bottle - whether its breastmilk or water, she shakes her head and grunts to let you know she's not interested. If you continue to force it in her mouth, she bites down on the nipple of the bottle to stop the flow until you take it out of her mouth. It's really quite amusing!
When we got back from the grocery store, Brad had just gotten her to sleep, so I had to wake her back up to eat. Brad looked pretty exhausted and said that she cried almost the whole time. She also spit up...a lot...so she had new clothes on!! (She has the craziest "exorcist" type spit ups...it's really hard to believe that much can be projected by something so little!)
Once we got her settled after her feeding, my mom and I headed to the mall. Brad needed a belt and mom wanted to use her giftcard that Karen left her. We did some shopping, went to Starbucks and had every intention of going to Buy Buy Baby and Bob's Tropical Fish store, but mom insisted we go home so we could check on Brad...I mean, check on Allie. She was missin' her baby doll...
So, again, we go home, just in time for her feeding again. Brad did much better with her this time around and she was fast asleep again.
Then...Brad and I left for Buy Buy Baby and the fish store (had to ask about algae problems in our fish tank). We had to go to Buy Buy Baby to buy some different nipples for the bottles. We ended up getting the NUK nipples to see if she'll take those. Mom's a little worried that she'll have problems feeding her when I go back to work. While we were there, Brad found a cute Beatles onsie that he insisted on buying for her...I think that is the second outfit that he's bought for her...the first outfit was a Star Wars onesie...boys....
We went and picked up a pizza and finally got home...and I fed her...again! The Lannom's dropped by as Allie was asleep. And stupid us...we wanted to wake her up so they could see her...bright eyes and cute face...we tried the whole time to wake her and she was dead to the world...as soon as they were ready to go...Allie woke up...and didn't go back to sleep until her final evening feeding....totally interrupting our Battlestar Gallactica time (I only have 3 more episodes left...on the LAST season...what am I going to do after that?!) She was very fussy so we just learned another valuable lesson...don't ever wake a sleeping baby up to entertain guests...
