Day 301 - Uh, oh...Allie vs Mommy

We are still in the midst of getting the house "market ready." Brad had to mow the lawn today, so that left me with Allie for the evening. Everything was going okay until Allie and I had our first throw down over dinner.

I have mentioned that she is starting to become a picky eater. She is now realizing that watermelon tastes a heck of a lot better than veggies, tofu or Gerber meat sticks. After a few bites of food, she started playing with her food - squishing the peas and other foods. Our pediatrician said that they are at an age now where they need to start learning "no." As she started playing with her food, I sternly said, "NO MA'AM. WE DON'T PLAY WITH OUR FOOD!" Allie looked at me and then slammed her hand down on top of the veggies, squashing them with a splat. I gave her a tap on the hand and repeated a little more sternly, "NO MA'AM!" She cut her eyes at me, slowly raised her hand...and slammed it down again! When I tapped her hand again, she balled her fists up and let out a "MMMMMMMMergh...." Uh - oh - my mom's wish came true...she's got my temperament.

We survived and in the end, I broke down and gave her the watermelon! I just get worried that she's not eating enough...I know, I know....she's chubby enough I shouldn't be worried!

Well, soon enough, it was bath time. This is usually a daddy daughter time. Aside from dunking Allie under water...we survived it too!

I ended up rocking Allie to sleep, just to round out the Allie evening and she cracks me up! When she doesn't nap at daycare...she fights so hard to stay awake!

Trying so hard to stay awake....

Then she finally gives in....
Oh...I love this kiddo!
