Today was OFFICIALLY my last day of work....for those of you who don't know....I work at a place called insanity. It's where all the crazies work, with the exception of a few people. I've had enough of the insanity - so I decided to close that chapter of my life. (Note: If you're in HR and you're reading this - please know that I have a BIG SMILE on my face knowing that you're reading this! I'm happy knowing that my family and I are that important to you!)
I started today taking Allie to the doctor. Last night she had such a rough night with the fever then sweats and vomit that I just couldn't NOT take her. Walking into the pediatrician's office, I felt like that hypochondriac mother, since I was just in that same office...last Friday. Okay - I am THAT mother!
But after we met with the doctor, I was reassured that I did the right thing. The ear infection was not getting better and it turns out she has a viral thing that is going around...vomit and fever. Poor baby.
As pitiful as she was, I still went into the office to make my rounds and say good-bye to the people that matter! Now I'll only have a few days off before I start my road trip out to Salt Lake with my girlfriend - leaving Allie, Brad and my mom to survive without me. (I like saying survive so that at least I can pretend they NEED me!)
With this sickness that Allie has - whether it be the viral infection or the ear infection - she has decided that she doesn't want to eat. She lost a pound....my daughter.....who used to love to eat....and gain weight like it was going out of style.....
I like to think its the sickness, but I worry that she just doesn't want to eat her baby food anymore. The baby food that I made her....the baby food that she used to love! She now purses her lips together and turns her head. If you persist, she then moves your arm away from her mouth! BUT if you give her big people food, she gobbles it all up. Hmmm - what's a mommy to do?
