Day 306 - Injuries and Poison Control

I forgot to mention our first call to Poison Control on Sunday!!! We had just finished giving Allie her bath and as I was "powdering" her up (as i like to call it!), she grabbed the hand sanitizer pump. I figured I would let her play with it while I powdered and dressed her and the next thing I know, she's chewing and sucking on the pump...and then made a crazy ugly face. I thought - OMG! She just drank the hand sanitizer! After I explained to Brad, he found the number and we called. After the lady on the other end of the phone took my name and phone number...then Allie's name...she asked me if it was alcohol free hand sanitizer. Yes. She proceeded, "Then she'll be fine. She may have a bit of an upset stomach depending on how much she ingested." Thinking back, I think she may have just tasted a bit that was on the pump...(I tasted some too...I'm not sure why - it was a split second decision after I realized she had tasted it). Luckily - she did not get sick and all was well. (Thanks Bana for buying the alcohol free foam!). So now - I feel like a terrible mother for having to call Poison Control - but thinking back to our birth classes, the nurse told us that she's had to call a few times for her grandchildren...and NOT to feel bad. Easier said than done!

Today when I picked Allie up from daycare, I noticed a mark on her arm. I didn't notice it until after we had gotten in the car. It looked like a burn mark and I couldn't make out the symbol. It was a perfectly round strange mark. When I got home, I showed Brad. We poked it, prodded it and rubbed it. Nothing - from either Allie (with a reaction) or the mark (it didn't rub off). Turns out, there was an "incident" at the daycare. Someone bit her. The I looked at it, the more I started to make out the perfect little circular patter of the little kid's mouth...his perfect row of bottom teeth and then his top two teeth. All I have to say is Thank GOD it is her last week at daycare. I'll leave it at that!

What a way to start the week!

This isn't the greatest picture, but it was the best I could do by myself!
